1. Instrument and Data File Compatibility
Work with data files from hundreds of analytical instruments including Beckman, Bio-Rad, Bomem, HP, Hitachi, Mattson, Midac, Nicolet, Perkin-Elmer, Shimadzu, Varian, Waters, and many others. Work with industry standard file formats such as ASCII, JCAMP, AIA/ANDI, and more. Galactic’s Smart Convert(TM) technology will identify your instrument’s data file and open it automatically for you. There are no additional importing steps, just select the file and click open.
2. Data Processing
Fast and flexible data processing on both single and multi-dimensional data files puts
GRAMS/AI in front of any other spectroscopy software. An extensive library of applications allows the software to perform any type of calculation on virtually any data type.
From simple smoothing and derivatives to advanced peak fitting and self-deconvolution it has never been so easy to obtain optimum results with confidence.
GRAMS/AI’s intuitive user interface allows you to easily access the numerous processing parameters available. Simply choose the parameter options and the results are immediately displayed along with the raw data. Quickly compare the results of different processing parameters to ensure you obtain the best results. Most processing methods can automatically calculate and select optimum processing parameters based on the data or user prompted input.
GRAMS/AI’s unique multi-page Spectral Workbooks provide a custom environment for handling and processing your data. Users can easily create workbook pages which can contain different views, toolbars, and menus. Powerful display objects such as contour plots, equations, 3D projected maps, peak tables, and search reports can be added to workbook pages to help you maximize the visualization of complex data. Workbook pages or an entire workbook can be assigned an automated task that will process data or perform a function when data is loaded.
3. Traceability and Security
With all the processing capabilities in GRAMS/AI, it is important to accurately track and verify what has been done to your data. Data files processed by Galactic Certified Programs leave a comprehensive audit trail to ensure traceability. The
GRAMS/AI audit trail contains a complete description of the processing methods and equations applied to the data as well as time, date, user name, and program version to satisfy the strictest compliance standards. Finally, a special password set by the administrator allows sign-off on processed data which allows detection of any change in the file.
4. Visual Programming
The GRAMS/AI Macro Wizard allows users to create custom processing routines to accommodate specific experimental needs. With the Macro Wizard you can automate a series of processing routines, create new customized routines or modify existing applications - with no coding. Advanced users can customize
GRAMS/AI features to solve virtually any analytical problem with Galactic’s powerful programming language, Array Basic.
5. Technique Specific Processing
In addition to general purpose processing routines, GRAMS/AI provides technique specific applications for a variety of instrumental techniques. Each copy of
GRAMS/AI ships with your choice of one Application Pack.
6. Instrument Control
GRAMS/AI Version 5.1 and higher is fully compatible with all My Instrument® data acquisition and control software. With My Instrument data acquisition software users can run their instruments and acquire data on Windows 95, 98 and NT4 systems.
GRAMS/AI will automatically recognize and incorporate My Instrument data acquisition software directly into its menus. Both Galactic software and My Instrument data acquisition software can be upgraded independently and continue to work together seamlessly so you can always use the most recent release of
GRAMS/AI, Spectral ID, PLSplus/IQ, or GRAMS/3D.
7.
Configuration Manager (new in version 7)
It provides network administration tools has been
updated to support new settings for user profiles. When used in a 21 CFR 11
compliant environment, these settings will help restrict access to software
features for authorized users only.
8. Electronic Signature (new in version 7) These
new Thermo Galactic eSignature, enables users with authorized credentials to
sign file changes. Audit logging ensures that a file signature cannot be
repudiated. eSignature can detect when a Thermo Galactic SPC or CGM
file has been tampered with or has an invalid signature. 9.
Comprehensive audit logging (new in version 7) Grams/AI adds an
integrity value to all SPC format files that it saves. This applies no
matter how the file save operation is invoked- via GRAMS/AI's File/Save
Trace As command or the Array Basic SAVESPC statement. SPC
files are saved in the new SPC format which includes an audit log. Under
User Preferences/Data, the Use old SPC format setting will be
disabled. (This is dependent on whether the Configuration Manager's Use
verbose logging setting is enabled for the user).
